Carrie grew up in Bethalto, Illinois. Her love for dance and gymnastics began at just two years old when she began taking lessons. She was a competitive tumbler for several years competing at state and national levels for USTA. She continued her gymnastics journey by competing at compulsory and optional levels in artistic gymnastics for Mid-Illinois Gymnastics and Dance, Inc.
Carrie went on to enjoy a successful career in competitive cheerleading. She was the captain of her cheerleading team in high school and a three-time NCA All-American cheerleader. She competed in local and state championships.
Building on her love for tumbling and desire to make an impact, she went into coaching and gymnastics instruction. After college she was the head coach of a middle school competitive cheerleading team that won several regional championships. She taught beginner and intermediate gymnastics classes at both Mid-Illinois Gymnastics and Dance, Inc. and World Class Gymnastics.
Carrie is a first grade teacher in the Kirkwood School District. She treasures the opportunity to educate and influence the next generation of leaders. Her greatest passion is working with children. When she is not teaching, Carrie loves to spend time with her husband and kids, Jude and Eliza.
Carrie believes that involving kids in extracurricular activities builds confidence, resilience, discipline, and self-agency. She is so excited to share her enthusiasm for teaching and tumbling with Charmette students.
