Mrs. Maggi Geisz has been dancing since the age of 3 and has been involved with Charmette for 32 years—15 years as a student under the direction of Angie Klevorn and Margie Rowe and 17 years as teacher and choreographer. She is also an Assistant Director of the Stars of Tomorrow Dance Company.
In her time dancing at Charmette and competing with the Stars of Tomorrow Dance Company, Miss Maggi received numerous overall and Title awards, scholarships, cash prizes, and special awards. She was awarded Petite, Junior, and Teen Miss Dance of St. Louis as well as Junior and Teen Miss Dance of America Most Talented Non-Finalist.
As a choreographer, her numbers have received many high scores and other awards regionally, as well as nationally. Furthering her knowledge of dance and teaching has become a passion for Miss Maggi. She has had the privilege of training with professionals through Dance Masters of America, Broadway Dance Center, the Millenium Dance Complex, The Edge, and teachers including Dennis Caspary, Sheila Barker, Patrice Barakat-Corral and Nikki Snelson. She has performed at Walt Disney World, The MUNY, Variety Club telethon, television commercials, Destination Dance, and Off Broadway productions. She enjoys traveling the country as a choreographer, master teacher, and judge.
Miss Maggi attended the University of Tennessee and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During her time at UT, she was a member of the 5-Time Universal Dance Association National Champion Dance Team. She was also featured in the 2009 Monday Night Football commercial on ESPN with the UT Dance Team. After graduating from UT, Miss Maggi went on to work and perform with the Walt Disney World Entertainment Department in Orlando, Florida.
Miss Maggi is a member of Chapter #21 St. Louis Dancing Teachers Association of Dance Masters of America. In 2014, she earned her Master of Arts in School Counseling K-12 and served as an Elementary School Counselor in the Lindbergh School District for 8 years. During her time at Lindbergh, Miss Maggi was also the Head Coach of the Lindbergh Flyerettes Dance Team for 4 years and remains a consultant and choreographer for the program. Recently, she completed the requirements to earn her Professional Counseling License and is planning to continue her counseling career in a private practice setting.
In her free time, Miss Maggi enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and her two children, Arthur and Maisie, as well as their two dogs, JJ and Peach.
